Otsu Lower District was one of two districts of Ōtsu in Ōmi, Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke visited the district to find the whereabouts of the town's daikan Isshiki Mansaku, a target from Lady Oichi's bodyguard Kuma. Upon nearing a mansion, they overheard the locals complain about Mansaku's orders and discovered his location. Breaking into his home, they confronted Mansaku and promptly assassinated him.[1]
