Beatha was a Hidden One Acolytus who was based in Venta Belgarum in Britannia during the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine I.

Biography

At some point after Constantine I was acclaimed emperor by his legions at Eboracum in 306 CE, local Christian worshippers in Britannia came under frequent attacks by the Belgae, a large Celtic tribe from northern Gaul. Seeking protection for the worshippers in the region, the Hidden Ones in Venta Belgarum sent Beatha to locate Emperor Constantine's entourage during his time in Britannia and deliver a personal message, which she succeeded in.[1]

Legacy

Five centuries later, the report of Beatha's mission was recovered by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan as she explored the Roman ruins of the Venta Belgarum bureau in Wincestre.[1]

Behind the scenes

The name Beatha is of Celtic origin meaning "life", suggesting that the Hidden One may be of Celtic lineage.
