Li E and his allies setting up

An arrow storm is a skill in which a group of archers shoot a large barrage of arrows or bolts simultaneously at their intended targets. This tactic has primarily been adopted by the Assassins.

History[edit | edit source]

On 15 July 756, at Mawei Station, the remaining members of the Golden Turtles and their allies met in secret to discuss how to deal with the ire of the self-proclaimed Emperor of Yan An Lushan and his ongoing rebellion. However, the Hidden One Li E and his allies set up themselves atop the bamboo trees and launched a full assault of an arrow storm on the Golden Turtles' meeting. With the exception of Chancellor Yang Guozhong, who fled the barrage, nearly all of the Golden Turtles were purged, though furious Tang soldiers soon surrounded the Chancellor and executed him for his role in arranging the deaths of many comrades-in-arms and commanding officers.[1]

During his time in Rome in the 1500s, the Italian Assassins' Mentor Ezio Auditore regularly made use of arrow storms against his enemies with help from his apprentices while he worked to eliminate the Borgia family's influence over the city.[2] While searching for the Masyaf Keys, Ezio continued to use this skill after securing recruits for the Ottoman Brotherhood.[3]
