The Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is a church located in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
Circa 1492, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins was betrayed by Diego de Alvarado, who stole a piece of the Shattered Staff of Eden in Sobroso Castle[2] and left for a rendezvous with the Inquisitor and Spanish Templar Gustavo Ramírez at the cathedral.[1]
The Assassins arrived at the cathedral and made their way to Alvarado and Ramírez, killing the Inquisition soldiers in their way. Ramírez mocked the Assassins for falling for Alvarado's ruse and called his lieutenants to fight them while he escaped with the piece of the Staff. However, he was abruptly betrayed when Alvarado pulled a knife and stabbed him in the back.[1]
As Ramírez bled out, Alvarado revealed his plan to bring the artifact to Tomás de Torquemada and claim the reward alone, then denounced both the Assassins and Templars for their endless feud and fled through a back door. The Assassins defeated the Inquisition lieutenants and left the church to pursue Alvarado.[1]
