The Phylakes were an elite Greco-Roman paramilitary force who served as bounty hunters for Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII during the final years of the Ptolemaic Kingdom.[1] In 48 BCE, they were given orders to hunt the Medjay Bayek of Siwa after he assassinated Alexandria's Phylakitai Gennadios.[2] With the exception of the elderly retired woman Abar, each member patrolled separate regions of Egypt throughout the Alexandrine war until Bayek slew them.[3]
