Phoebe

Phoebe was the Oracle of Apollo serving in a sanctuary in the Green Mountains of Cyrenaica during the 1st century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

During the mid-1st century BCE, Phoebe served as the Oracle for the Greek god Apollo in a sanctuary in Cyrenaica. As such, Phoebe was often visited by Cyrenaicans, who sought her out for blessings and prophecies.[1]

In 47 BCE, Phoebe was visited by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa whom she had predicted would come. Phoebe explained her visions that she had received from Apollo to Bayek, entrusting him to seek out the Halo of the Huntress, a relic belonging to the mythical huntress Cyrene.[1]
