Pedro Álvarez de Soutomaior (c. 1430 – 1486), popularly known as Pedro Madruga, was the Count of Caminha and a major political player in the Kingdom of Galicia.

A friend of the monks from a monastery in the Asturias mountains, Pedro was entrusted by them with a section of a Staff of Eden rumored to have belonged to Saint James, and hid it in Sobroso Castle.[1]
