New Bone was an island in the Caribbean, located in the Seranilla region to the southwest of Jamaica. During the early 18th century, it was the site of a sizable sugar plantation owned by the Beckford Estate.
Said plantation's warehouse was located near the cliffs, where armaments were set up; in spite of these defenses, the pirate Edward Kenway raided it sometime between 1716 and 1722.[1] He would also visit the island to accept two assassination contracts via pigeon coop.[2][3]

When players first arrive at New Bone, a Spanish blockade consisting of a level 60 Man O' War and two level 29 frigates will guard the surrounding harbor area. If players sneak past the blockade and onto the island, the ships will still stay there indefinitely until the player destroys the blockading ships.
