Namrut was an Egyptian rebel who operated in the Saqqara Nome during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Namrut was part of a rebel group who worked closely with Nefertari, the chief healer of the natron mine, Nitria, in the nome. Nefertari would regularly provide medical aid to the rebels for their injuries suffered from fighting Ptolemy XIII's soldiers.[1]
In 48 BCE, Namrut and the rebels were involved in an attack on the nearby military encampment. However, the rebels were outnumbered in the attack, losing many men in the process. They retreated to a nearby abandoned fort to seek shelter.
