Berwick-upon-Tweed, or simply Berwick is a port town and parish in Northumberland, England, located south of the Anglo-Scottish border By the late 13th century it was Scotland's most important trading port.[1] In 1296 it was captured by the English in the first significant battle of the First War of Scottish Independence.[2]
