Why did ya remove all the vids during the walkthrough revamp? I asked Sima if they were ok there before putting them in. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 02:10, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

fanon in mainspace?[edit source]

noticed this [Jak' Na Kei|fannon page] which appears to be created on the mainspace rather than in the fanon area, if it is on the mainsapce it should probably be moved, hence why im asking one of the fanon staff. Ægritudo Talk 23:03, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Done. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:13, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Tomahawk[edit source]

I realize my edit may have been a bit ambiguous and apologize for that. I was referring to the part about the "menial tasks, such as cutting a rope." I can't seem to find that anywhere in the GI article. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 13:51, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

You can see it during the Boston gameplay demo. Connor takes out his tomahawk and chops at the rope for a lift, bringing him to the rooftop. I suppose that part could be sourced better. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:24, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

Redcoat render V2

I've recently uploaded a different one. Which one do you think looks better on the article? =) ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 14:14, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

The render will always take the place of concept art when it comes to the image at the top of the article, and then the concept image can be placed in the gallery at the bottom. Take the Thespian for example. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:24, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed Initiates[edit source]

Excuse me, I see you erased the Assassin's Creed Initiates article I had written with another version, possibly yours. I don't mind, but you should add the various sections of the website, considering Initiates isn't simply a tracking website.ValTekken 15:39, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

While that may be true, there is a link to the website at the bottom of the page, and to be quite honest, it's not like we need to mention that it has a shop and forums. I do suppose labelling it as a community-oriented website would be sufficient however. Slate Vesper (talk) 15:42, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, then. Still think at least a "Forums" section is needed. And yes, the second version of the article was mine. I had modified it 51 minutes ago, and you modified it later, 36 minutes ago. I don't mind, but I think I'll stop writing articles, though.ValTekken 15:49, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't be discouraged from writing articles. The Wiki appreciates those that are driven on expanding the knowledge of the Assassin's Creed series, but it's also open-source for those who refine that for others' benefit, so that's why I edited a better version in, courtesy of our user Gabriel Auditore.

I have recently added a little more to the opening paragraph of the article, making sure to mention the forums and the Ubiworkshop store. I hope you stick around and add more to the Wiki however. :) Slate Vesper (talk) 15:55, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

I will surely stick around, read and edit here and there, but I think writing articles just isn't my thing. I don't know formatting, templates and the various tools, I can barely put up a good structure...yeah, I would fail most certainly. Thanks for the encouragement anyway.ValTekken 16:04, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

MP question[edit source]

I have another question. Since the ACR MP, the characters are more diverse, with their own voices in taunting, yelling/screaming when getting killed and moaning/groaning when dazed by a contested kill. And I was thinking, do they have their own voice actors or are just made on computer or something, lol. TemplarAgent (talk) 01:02, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

Do you know how hard it would be to replicate a realistic human voice on a computer?
Yes, they use voice actors. Slate Vesper (talk) 01:04, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

Initiates[edit source]

Hey Slate; it's "make sure there's no survivor" as in "make sure there is no survivor." I know "there are no survivors" sounds better, but technically, Ubi is grammatically correct here and we should stick to what they've written (since it's error free). No offense intended mate =) ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 10:27, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Ubisoft are not grammatically error free, and we should not expect them to be. So if that means fixing a tiny spelling error on the wiki, even if Ubisoft was the one to make it, I don't see the harm in it.

For the record, I didn't change it to "there are no survivors", I just added the "s", since it fixes the phrase. "Make sure there's no survivor." would be wrong. Slate Vesper (talk) 10:32, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

"Make sure there is no survivors"? I'm aware that Ubisoft aren't grammatically error free, but could you just go over the sentence again? I know it's kind of trivial, but it kind of feels like we're fixing something that isn't broken. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 10:36, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

When you're asking if there are any survivors, you wouldn't use a singular term, because then there'd be little point in asking if you were aware there was only one. Also, in this case, "there's" is grammatically correct, even if the longer version makes less sense. Personally, I don't get why "there's" suits better than "they're" in the event of a plural usage, given the reasoning behind it, but it just works better grammatically I suppose. Slate Vesper (talk) 10:48, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

My catgory addition[edit source]

That edit of mine you un-did, was an example of my occasional stupidity. I should have read more than just the title. :L

Sorry for wasting your time in reading this, but I just thought I should assure you that it wasn't intentional vandalism. :P Crimson Knight Intercom 15:12, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

I don't quite understand...[edit source]

"Since I'm monitoring the Recent Wiki Activity, that message has to unfortunately be returned to sender." I'm sorry for this, but what seems to be the problem? Have I done something wrong? Crimson Knight Intercom 14:55, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Playing messenger for a banned user, and the message being a giant "fuck you" sign. Yes, you did do something wrong.

Ideally, I should give you an official warning for that, but I'm going to be merciful this time. If some other staff member wants to deliver the official warning though, that's up to them. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:59, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

If you really want to play messenger, you can now tell Joker that his block has been expanded by a year. This is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. Someone should teach him how to behave on the internet, since he breaks the rules on every website he goes to and gets banned. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:02, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I don't really want to be a messenger. I anticipated that one of us would be punished, and I think I warned him, or was about to, of the consequences. This'll be the last of this you'll hear from me. I hope so, anyway. Let's not flood Slate with messages, I now what that's like. Crimson Knight Intercom 15:09, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
I really have no problem with you playing messenger, it was the message itself that was inappropriate. You aren't punished, but you don't need to leave Joker's message when you know you really shouldn't. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:14, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
Noted. I wasn't personally trying to insult FTGM (love the guy), I just felt he should know that someone was needlessly bashing him. In future, Joker can find a way that doesn't involve me. Crimson Knight Intercom 15:20, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

England's article changes[edit source]

I don't see why the edits I was making were "unneeded" or warranted undoing. The first edit I made was to change the expression "constituent of the modern united kingdom" to "constituent country" to clarify what "constituent" meant. By referring to England as a constituent of the UK, it is unclear what it actually is - is it a constituent province? Is it actually a country? Is it just Britain with another name? Constituent country is also the official term used for England, Scotland and Wales.

The second edit I made was to change "British Parliament" to "English Parliament", a correction of something that is incorrect. This is because there was no British parliament during the English Civil War - England and Scotland both had their own parliaments right up until 1707, well after the war had ended. It could be argued that Cromwell's efforts were the progenitor to the creation of Great Britain, but he was clear in naming his new state the Protectorate of England, not Britain, UK etc. Even though his institutions were British in function they were English in name and intent.

Could you explain to me why both of these edits are unneeded? Owlbread (talk) 17:03, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

I don't mind you changing it to British Parliament, but you could have stated exactly why in the article summary, it would have made it easier.

However, England is referred to as a "country" earlier in the opening paragraph, so "constituent country" sounds out of place. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:10, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

A question[edit source]

Hi Slate. About a week ago, I was looking through the pictures on each of the ACIII MP characters' pages, and on the one on the Pioneer's page ([is the picture in question]), and I noticed that I don't recognize the person to her right who's assassinating the other NPC. I had left a comment on the talk page, but I guess nobody saw it, or didn't have anything to say. However, I mentioned it to Nesty the other day, and she directed me to you and said that you were more knowledgeable on the subject, so here I am. Can you tell if that's a character we've already seen, or is it someone we don't know about yet? A.J. two (talk) 02:36, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

To me, it looks like a customized Carpenter. Slate Vesper (talk) 02:57, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

Memory Dialogue[edit source]

About your revert, does that mean that we follow the in-game subtitles exactly? Sorry if I'm bombarding you with too many questions. Crimson Knight Intercom 20:36, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, but some slight exceptions can be made. (for instance, a slight spelling error etc.) Slate Vesper (talk) 20:43, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

Napoleon Conundrum[edit source]

Hey Slate Vesper, I have no idea if this is the proper way to respond to your query, but I am immensly thankful for your assisstance with my post and I will continue to be in the future, should you still wish to aid me.

Mentor 006

Don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong, I was just making sure to request so that I don't get into any trouble in the event that an author complained later. Also, your story is amazing, and I enjoy helping you out where I can. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:47, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Slate,

My apologies for bothering you once again, but I cannot find out how to change the text in my fanon to the commonly used one on this wiki and I don't have the ability to sit at one computer for an extended time period to type a whole chapter in one go; if you could please walk me through how to change the text on the edit page, I would be greatly apppreciative of your assisstance.

Mentor 006 (talk) 17:37, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

What you should do is go to Source mode at the top of the editor and cut away all the coding around each paragraph of the story. But, now that you've mentioned it to me, I'll do that for you now. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:46, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

Do you think Limited Edition and Uplay content should be removed from the DLC lists for the other games too? Alientraveller (talk) 19:17, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

No. The reason I removed that stuff from AC3 DLC is because at this point in time, they're just pre-order content. That means that they only require a code to be input for the characters/memories to be unlocked on disc.

The pre-order content can be re-added once they're incorporated into a downloadable content addition, with The Lost Archive being an example. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:31, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Caption boxes[edit source]

Is there a particular reason you're removing the caption boxes from those images, leaving us with just a floating picture on each page? --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 22:35, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

The multiplayer character pages refer that they're an Animi Avatar used by Abstergo Industries, and the picture shows them off. I haven't removed the description so that if anyone scrolled over it, they could still see it, but it just seems a waste to render out the background in the pictures for transparency and then have a black box take up what we tried to remove.

I don't object to their "real-world" characters having the caption box, since it could develop into a character infobox, but it seems a bit pointless to have a box that says "This guy is the Robber" when the page and the description refer to them as the Robber, for example. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:44, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

Removed fanon[edit source]

I left a question in the Daniel Cross talk page. Why did you remove it? The Great Dog Demon 20:45, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

I removed it because it was removed before by Vatsa, who told you to use the forums. Talk pages are used on the AC Wiki to discuss changes to the article. Speculative questions are what the forums are used for, and it isn't hard to make one. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:52, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

Oh...I see. I'm so sorry. I'm new to this. Please forgive me. The Great Dog Demon 00:17, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

No worries. If you're unsure on some things, feel free to ask. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:41, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

The trivia of he page of "Library of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad"[edit source]

Hi, I just edited the trivia section in the page of "Library of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad". I've clarified the type of Arabic language used in the script (No such thing as ancient Arabic exists). Also, I've rearranged the Arabic structure of the script to match that of the structure used in Arabic poetry.
It is not a matter of looking neater. I hope you re-consider.

I don't object to stating what language the script is, but the layout before stretched the page out needlessly. Slate Vesper (talk) 16:23, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

Release Date...[edit source]

Hmm you may be right and if I create it now then I think it's a "leak," But the character has little information, so when release date comes do I create him anyway? Zephalian (Dossier) (Briefing) 09:45, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

On the release date, you can make the page. If it has spoilers, it'd be advisable to use the {{Spoilerhd}} template. Slate Vesper (talk) 10:04, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Russia[edit source]

I'm going to try to "edit" the Russia page. What should I change the section name to from Russian Revolution to? DeltaRiver (talk) 05:53, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't remove "Russian Revolution", but I would add in "History" above it and change Russian Revolution to a smaller subheader. You can do this by going to source editor at the top and putting in ==History== and by adding an extra = to the sides of what's already there. Slate Vesper (talk) 05:59, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah I was thinking that..Thanks for confirming! DeltaRiver (talk) 06:03, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Just asking for your advice, what do you think of what I wrote so far?

"During the early 20th century, the Russian Empire was involved in the First World War and towards the end of the war, the country was thrown into a Revolution following Nicholas II's loss of the Imperial Sceptre that not only damaged the Tsar's influence but plunged the country into into a period of severe economic inflation following the expense of the First World War." DeltaRiver (talk) 06:19, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

I would put it like this:

"During the early 20th century, the Russian Empire was involved in the First World War. Towards the end of the conflict, the country was thrown into a revolution following Nicholas II's loss of the Imperial Sceptre, which not only damaged the Tsar's influence, but plunged the country into a period of severe economic inflation due to the war's expense." Slate Vesper (talk) 06:36, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm just finished the Russian Revolution section, it may be a bit too long in my opinion... feel free to change it to the wiki's liking! DeltaRiver (talk) 06:57, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Haytham Kenway[edit source]

Just quick question, why was my statement about Haythem Kenway removed completely? I got an email stating Spoiler so could understand having a warning on it. I am new to this so just wondering what happened. Thanks Devilmetal (talk) 12:18, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Any spoilers regarding AC3 are to be removed until tomorrow, as it's the game's release date. Personally I would prefer it to be the 31st since I'm from the UK, but as the Wiki goes by American standards, that's what we stick to. Slate Vesper (talk) 12:33, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Fair enough Thanks again Devilmetal (talk) 12:35, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Slate is it? I made a reply about your comment on that talk page. From what I saw some cheeky person thought it would be funny to go and add the Ratonhnaketon name to my page. LancelotLoire (talk) 21:37, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

...Really, that's what you meant? Look at the history section of your user page, only Wikia and yourself edited the page. For some reason, Wikia adds the name of the article, forum or blog a person first contributed to as their name in the infobox. Ah yes, being immature and slamming people is how I became an administrator. And it's either a problem with our .css or one on Wikia's part, we have to look into it. Regardless it's a problem easily fixed. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:24, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

And my apologies for the double post; the site kind of froze up while it was trying to publish so I stopped it and tried again. Magneto7 (talk) 09:50, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. The reason I removed the information was partly because of the format, and partly because it displayed pretty much as "Myriam did this. Myriam did that. She also did this."

It was pretty much the whole wedding memory in a step for step explanation. Slate Vesper (talk) 12:51, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Ah okay, my apologies then. I figured that details were important, but I guess the idea is to leave a certain amount for the gameplay. Thanks. Magneto7 (talk) 16:02, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Full stops in image captions[edit source]

Hi Slate, just though I would point this out, since I noticed you adding full stops at the end of image captions. Since, technically speaking, just a word isn't a sentence, there shouldn't be a full stop at the end. The same goes for quote attributions; unless it is a sentence, no full stops. Ta. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 13:48, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Jasca, it looks neater. Don't argue with me on this. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:49, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Don't argue with you on this? I suggest you grow the hell up and stop trying to act like you're my superior. It looks incorrect; whether you think it looks pretty really doesn't factor into it. I also suggest you stop acting like having the word 'Rafiq' next to your username gives you some sort of moral, or realistic power over anybody else, certainly me. The fact of this particular matter is as follows: a full stop (period) should only be used at the conclusion of a sentence, or for an abbreviation. "Myriam" is not a sentence, so there should be no full stop after it; netierh should there be one after "Maurice", or "Godfrey", or "Robert de Sable", or even after "Desmond Miles to Lucy Stillman".
Also, for the record, I'll argue with whoever the hell I like. I have done so for the past 25 years, and a single, grammatically incorrect, sentence from you isn't going to change that; thank you for your time. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 01:21, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
No Jasca, I think it's you who needs to grow the hell up. The Wiki is a database of information, but that doesn't mean it should discourage other users from reading it because someone is stuck too much in whether something is "grammatically correct." Just because we oversee a database, it doesn't mean we have to make it convoluted to read for our editors and anyone else, all because it pertains to some policy that you wrote. As far as I can see, it's only you who disagrees, whereas everyone else is fine with it. As such, I'm going with the majority, as we already do.
I'm tired of all the annoying, nit-picky crap that you come out with, and I'm certain there are others that are too. And as I'm aware, since no other person seems to be actively rallying against me, as I make sure to answer their questions and will admit where I'm wrong, it's just you.
I have no real personal hate for you Jasca, but this is not something I will bow down to you on, Staff responsibility or not, and acting like you've already won, when you haven't isn't going to make people favour you either. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:04, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
Edit: I guess my reply doesn't really matter now, since you've been blocked.

No, there isn't a project for Fanons, and I doubt there will be, as we require the author's permission to edit their story. As a Fanon Staff member, I have the ability to add templates, categories and to do some small formatting, but other than that, there's not much I can do without their say. Question regarding Achievement[edit source]

Considering that achievements unlocked by the completion of a sequence are present also in Desmond's Journey-entries, I thought it would be in-line to add them to the Lost Archive memories, too. May I ask why do you feel it's not? Sadelyrate (talk) 12:54, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Because if we did that on any other memory articles, we'd end up seeing "Completing this memory awards 'Sequence 5 Complete'" for end of sequence memories, which is quite silly to be fair. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:15, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it might end up looking quite silly... but why keep them for Desmond's Journey-entries? Sadelyrate (talk) 13:38, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

The Mole and the Dot-in-a-Circle[edit source]

I'll repeat what I said to Lucan07 earlier, regarding the location of the dot-in-a-circle... In the Lost Archive memory 4, "The Mole", it's not just enough to view the broken circle and the pillar from a certain angle; the only way to get them to align is to stand near where Clay had drawn the Nazca spider, and there play with the angle.

Unless, of course, I'm missing something, and the word 'angle' does contain suggestion of location, too? :) Sadelyrate (talk) 21:54, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

It's not so hard to put together "This symbol looks like it could match with that one. I'll go align them together to see if they make something... Oh, it works!"

The only need to put down the spider as a trivia piece is if you can actually see the spider in the memory, because then it's a directional cue. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:57, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Point taken. Thank you. :) Sadelyrate (talk) 22:15, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Maria Thorpe's death[edit source]

In Maria Thorpe's page, it says Swami slit her throat to kill her. Yet in Swami's page, it says he stabbed her in the back. I also came to that conclusion when I saw it in the game. So, which is it and what, if anything, should be changed? Kasaix (talk) 13:40, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Just brought this up with Nesty in the IRC, and it's supposed to be Revelations' rendition of the event, instead of what was written in The Secret Crusade. For that reason, it should be stabbed. (That is if I'm not remembering it the opposite way around)

Edit: Turns out the throat slitting takes precedence, since Sima reverted an edit to that effect. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:46, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, do you think a page should be made for Ellen and Quincent's daughter Maria? She is actually a member of the Homestead as well, and is seen doing chores. I think she should be included. What are your thoughts? JJSWAN (talk) 19:04, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

First Civilization-category[edit source]

I'm tempted to go and add in the word 'confirmed' to the description of the category. As in "all the confirmed members of the First Civilization". But would it be redundant, considering only known, sourced facts are supposed to be present in this wikia's entries? Sadelyrate (talk) 15:22, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

GameInformer and several other news sites reported that Edward's memories came from William's DNA, retrieved during his captivity. It's as legit as any other thing reported by gaming media. Whether it's true, however, I would not say for 100%; but if we start picking out information that we think is correct based on our own interpretation, then we're not doing our jobs right. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:09, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Remember.

From article:

As was reported by Ubisoft in the past, the story and the story of Desmond has finally reached a conclusion on the third series was released a few months ago and will not return again. So who's the story from the eyes of Edward Kenway time will tell? The common thread of the narrative itself will be assembled one analyst Abstergo, who managed to steal and access the memory of the father of Desmond - William Miles before he was rescued from the Templars in AC series before. But analysts are not going to play an important role as Desmond, just operate the existing Animus.

From GI.

The player assumes the role of an Abstergo Entertainment research analyst who's digging into the life of Edward Kenway using an Animus. Since you're not part of Desmond's family line, fans may raise an eyebrow at the fact that a non-relative can experience the memories of another. Ubisoft assures there are story foundations for this teased in AC III. The most likely scenario would seem to be tied to Desmond's conversation with his father, William, late in the game after the old man is rescued from Abstergo. When Desmond asks if the Templars got to him, William replies that he was able to resist, but it may not have been enough. "I know they've been working on ways to extract memories and let others sift through those memories," he says. "Maybe they're even analyzing mine right now."

William's fears are confirmed after the end credits, when players begin controlling Connor as someone other than Desmond. An unknown voice directs your quest to find pivots within the Animus. Once you're successful, the voice celebrates, "Holy crap. We did it. It's done. His data's uploading to the cloud. Vegas baby! Vegas!" The player's real-life gamertag is then shown to be "synchronized with the cloud." Is this William Miles' data? Is the voice on the line an employee of Abstergo Entertainment?

Thats all i could find at the moment--ACsenior (talk) 20:34, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

We'll confirm it eventually. Afterall we assumed for nearly two years that Altair, Ezio and Desmond were of a single bloodline, which sounds stupider everytime I think about it. --Alientraveller (talk) 20:45, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

I was referring to the physical issue of GameInformer, not the online website. And Alientraveller, it wasn't stupid back when news articles and Patrice Désilets preached that to be true. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:47, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

This article appears in issue #240 of Game Informer magazine.--ACsenior (talk) 20:49, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Are you definitely sure? Then I have been misinformed. Point remains. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:56, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Revert[edit source]

I altered three things, and your revert left me a bit puzzled; with which thing did you have a problem? --Crimson Knight Intercom 22:39, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Mainly the "dying a Arnold" part, but I also remember the Infamy having "apple" in lower-case when Benedict dies. Then again, I recall Sima saying that we should make corrections if they're more relevant, so I'm just confused about the latter part. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:42, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Oops, "dying a Arnold" was a derp, I meant to change it to "a dying Arnold". That's a little embarrassing. >.< Should I edit the caption again, and leave "apple" alone for now? --Crimson Knight Intercom 22:45, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

The Poison ability is something you use to discreetly kill an target and be given the chance to disappear while they come under its effects, and gives a good chunk of points and a bonus towards Variety. Slate Vesper (talk) 12:41, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hello there, I'm from the Watch Dogs wiki; http://watch-dogs.wikia.com/wiki/Watch_Dogs_Wiki.

Assassin's creed is a very popular title and publisher by same company as Watch Dogs. I know that Assassin's Creed is very popular, with good reason of course. Your wiki does the series justice so far as I can see, so I would really love to form a link between the two wikis.

Hopefully it would help share the interests of two different takes of the open-world genre.

Thank you for your time. JBanton (Talk | Contribs) 17:40, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in affiliating with us, but since Watch Dogs is a rather newly announced game, we'd prefer it if your Wiki was somewhat more developed before we link the two together.

I doubt there is even an in-universe quote for Animus Core, so I'll just remove it. The stuff it's trying to mention is already there on the article. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:36, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, what exactly is wrong with listing the map variations? I thought I was helping by providing information, but apparently, that information is not needed. I don't see why. Just because the variations are purely aesthetic, doesn't mean they don't matter. And I find the reasoning for the deleting of quotes extremely dodgy as well; both (all three if you count the New York Brewery) are out-of-universe, so why does the Virginian Plantation one get to stay. You say it's allowed to stay there because it's descriptive, then how about just allowing any quote there, as long as it describes the map? If I changed the description on the article itself, so that the information in the quote would no longer be redundant, would that allow the quote to stay on the page? I feel like there's a lack of consistency here :/ I'd be more satisfied if there'd at least be a clear-cut policy on what kind of quotes are allowed and what kinds aren't.

I'm sorry if this comes across as rude, but I'm a bit frustrated. I feel like people are not giving me straight answers.

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 18:57, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry if my edits seem counter-productive, but the Wiki is in the midst of re-organizing itself to cater to a more in-universe perspective. I removed the Animus Core quote because it was communicating directly at the player of AC3, and didn't really fit in with the Abstergo Entertainment aspect of the multiplayer.

Also, I'm not steadfastly opposed to mentioning aesthetic changes in the maps, but by the way they're phrased, they're coming across somewhat "these are paramaters players control", instead of "this is a function that was improved from the Animi Training Program and implemented into the Animus games console by Abstergo Entertainment", if you get what I'm trying to say.

If you're directing the article straight at the person playing the Xbox or PS3, it most likely will come out as OOU.

I left Virginia Plantation's quote as it was because the quote itself could be technically interpretated as IU, but I admit that I don't the mention of "Ubisoft description". Slate Vesper (talk) 19:07, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you, now I'm at least a little clearer on the subject. I'm still not sure what to do with that quote on the Virginian Plantation though. So, quotes that address the reader/player are not allowed? I guess I might just delete that quote and the one on the New York Brewery page then (I'm an all-or-nothing kind of editor, I want every article to feel equally detailed, so I get frustrated over one page having a quote while the other one doesn't :P). But, from your explanation, I gather the aesthetic variations are allowed to be mentioned as long as I rephrase them a bit, so that they'll appear more in-universe?

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:16, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

That's correct. Sorry for causing you such frustration, I really should have made it clearer to you from the get-go. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:20, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, to spare us the trouble of continually changing the articles themselves, I'll just post my 'rephrased' version here and see if it's any good.

"With the implementation of new technology, simulated locations in the console stage were upgraded to have multiple aesthetic variations. The New York Brewery would be set during the daytime, a moonlit night or a storm."

I'm not sure to be honest ^^; It's harder than I thought. (sorry for the continuous messages)

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:40, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

All I would alter is "The <location> would be set" to "Because of this, (the) <location> could be utilized during the day, the night, or amidst <weather variant>."

"The" in brackets can be added in if it's really needed, and the ones in < > can be substituted for whatever they are. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:48, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Okay Crook, cleared your doubts? Although I didn't understand what Slate said, I know you do. And Slate, I didn't mean it ;) unsigned comment by Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk · contr)

Multiplayer Maps[edit source]

I still don't really have an idea of where to go with questions I have, so forgive me for bothering you again ^^;

I've primarily busied myself with multiplayer maps so far, and the next one I was going to tackle was Saint Pierre. I've got some images lined up, I will be adding those the Wiki once I start, but I'm a bit worried about the article itself. The previous maps I've done are not specific: Animus Core is a purely fictional location, while Virginian Plantation and New York Brewery are based on plantations and breweries respectively, they have no individual history associated with them. Saint Pierre however is based on an actual location with actual history. So, to what extent should the history of that location be detailed in the article? What information would be relevant in this cause? (is the historic information currently present in the article satisfactory?) Should I focus on what the multiplayer map actually looks like (as I've done with previous three)? Should it have a table of content?

I'm just looking for some tips on how I should structure the article, how in-depth I should be when it concerns historic information,... By the way, just out of curiousity, do you think Animus Core, Virginian Plantation and New York Brewery are extensive enough right now as articles? They can't really compare to articles as detailed as Fort St-Mathieu for example :|

Anyways, thanks in advance :)

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 14:02, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

What's currently contained on Saint Pierre for the historical information is fine as it is, since there's no events in the AC universe that display it outside of a general description of its establishment. For the multiplayer information, I would add it underneath the short paragraph detailing its involvement as a location in Abstergo Entertainment's product.

For Animus Core and the others, I doubt they would be as extensive as the other maps, for the reason you mentioned – they pretty much don't have any historical information to document.

Also, you can ask me anything, anytime, though sometimes I won't be able to answer it immediately (when I'm asleep, for instance). Slate Vesper (talk) 14:17, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

More questions :D I wanted to do Boston North End next, so I started up ACIII again to search for background information. I also wanted to check whether the multiplayer map is based on a part of Boston in the singleplayer. I haven't found it yet, but I did stumble across the area Boston Harbor is based on, so that gives me hope that it exists.

So, anyway, I just hoped that you might know whether "Boston North End" has an in-game database entry (like Green Dragon Tavern, which is apparently in Boston North End, according to the wiki) and if you had any idea where the Boston North End area is in the singleplayer. I know that might be a bit of a stretch, but I figured I'd give it a shot. You do seem to be the go-to-guy for multiplayer.

Thanks in advance :)

Crap, I thought I was logged in. Sorry about that ^^;

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 14:33, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Not that I'm complaining, but does it really make that much difference where the "in 2012"'s are located in the sentence? :P Crookandcharlatan (talk) 21:55, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

God, I need to start checking those summaries. Ignore that pointless question ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 21:56, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

Renegade[edit source]

Look, all I want is to give Shahkulu / Renegade (preferably both, but apparently they're not "the same", so I'll settle for the Renegade) a decent render, cause the current one is atrocious, in my opinion. Especially since there are good images available online to use, like this one . All it needs is to be made transparent, which is something I regrettably can't do myself. Could I ask you to do that (or ask someone who you know could do it) in my stead? Crookandcharlatan (talk) 08:28, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

We use the images of their genetic counterpart if they are available, over renders made for the multiplayer. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:25, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

I don't understand why you would do that; the Renegade is no more than an avatar. I mean, for example, Mirela Djuric's in-game model has colours that are far less vibrant than the Animi Avatar, based on her, possesses. The socks her singleplayer counterpart wears are also not part of the Trickster's default appearance (even if they can be added). I always assumed the same images were used because the Trickster lacked an actual multiplayer render. And it's not like Vali cel Tradat and the Sentinel, or Lysistrata and the Thespian use the same images anyway. Similarly, if you had an in-game render of Lia de Russo, would you also use that one for article on the Smuggler? No, you wouldn't, because her singleplayer counterpart doesn't have a cape.

And above all that, if you have a high-quality render for the Renegade, why not use it instead of the off-looking one of Shahkulu (it's something to do with the borders, it looks absolutely terrible on a white background)? Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:06, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

If you feel very strongly on the issue, put it up for community vote on a forum page. Best way to gauge the community's opinion.

However, I'm glad that you're eager to improve the multiplayer articles on the Wiki. We don't have many editors to maintain them after all. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:12, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Kainzor also approves. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 19:19, August 5, 2013 (UTC)
I might do that, once I figure out how :P
And it's no biggie, the multiplayer maps are almost like describing a location for a travel brochure. And since there's not always that much to them, I don't have to be too nervous about putting up references and sources anywhere, though I do like very professional-looking articles. I'm just a big fan of the multiplayer component and some of the articles are just... ugh. Ah well, it's good fun fixing them up and it pleases me that the amount of stubs has significantly lowered :) I just don't know if I'll be able to do the more complex articles. For example, Galata District and Imperial District are more than just multiplayer maps and don't have good singleplayer descriptions yet (unlike locations such as Rome or Venice), so I'm wary of tackling those.
What's wrong with the descriptions for the kill animations by the way? I saw that on your to-do list (Slate's) and I didn't really understand what was wrong with them. Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:29, August 5, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I've posted it in the Wiki Discussion. Added in a bit about the Ubisoft descriptions as well.Crookandcharlatan (talk) 20:41, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Present day impact of certain memories[edit source]

So Slate, it seems you forgot to place a reason in at least one of your edit summaries. Currently "A Seed" is the only memory listing the 2012 aftermath of Desmond reliving that memory. Alientraveller (talk) 09:34, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Putting down the modern day aftermath is out-of-memory context, so I'll be removing that from "A Seed" too. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:22, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

What about the very mention of Desmond reliving all those memories in 2012? Wasn't the point of synchronizing with certain memories was to find the location of vaults and PoEs? Also, why did you undo my clarification of why certain Templars had the Assassin insignia? If it's obvious why then perhaps we should remove those points altogether. --Alientraveller (talk) 18:40, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Because we're referring to a genetic memory of the ancestor, not Desmond himself. That places the focus on the Assassin being relived, and so sliding in modern day references isn't helpful.

Also, the pieces you placed about the Templar-Assassin insignia situation are speculation. Who is to say that the insignia is there to serve as an aid to Desmond, Rebecca, Shaun and William? Slate Vesper (talk) 18:43, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Hmmm, they do use the insignia for horses even though horses aren't Assassins ("AT's briefly daydreams about a hooded horse with a Hidden Blade placed on its hoof*), but you don't think it's worth bringing up that the Animus team assumed the Boston Templars were Assassins? --Alientraveller (talk) 19:00, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Never is it explicitly mentioned. Besides, since Desmond was surprised at the revelation, I bet they were surprised too, but everyone took it better than he did. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:02, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Liberation unlockable outfits[edit source]

What's the point of having a user account on here?

What's the deal with deleting the info about the unlockable outfits or hats in Assassin's Creed Liberation?

10 Voodoo dolls = Trophy and Chichen Itza Slave persona outfit

10 Jeweled brooches = Trophy and Charming Dress Lady persona outfit

10 Assassin Coins = Trophy and Bayou Hunter assassin persona outfit

All Alligator eggs = Trophy and Traveler's Hat

All Diary pages = Trophy and Smuggler's Hat ~baddkar

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that the information is incorrect. I just need to verify it, seeing as I'm currently playing through Liberation myself. This is a wiki that anyone can contribute to, and considering you're fairly new here, I'm going to check if it's 100% true, especially when you take into mind that the Bayou Hunter outfit can be obtained via the Mysteries of the Bayou Pack. (which at the moment, it seems only a select few have.) Slate Vesper (talk) 17:55, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Okay whatever man it's no big deal. Just thought the point of these wikis and allowing anyone to edit was for the benefit of the wiki and information in general. Instead this is just like any other website where someone must verfiy the information first. Seems very much like a Templar type philosophy, let us THINK we have freedom to edit yet we are just CONTROLLED by the admin...

"Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that the information is incorrect." "I'm going to check if it's 100% true"

Baddkar (talk) 18:28, August 8, 2013 (UTC)baddkar

It is for the benefit of the Wiki, and once myself or another user backs it up, the information will be re-instated. However, people have added true sounding information before, and yet it turned out to be false. Verification is not a bad thing, and considering people use the Wiki as a database of Assassin's Creed information, we'd rather they didn't take something from here that was incorrect and believe it to be 100% true, because then it causes confusion and frustration in the long term. Modern day screens[edit source]

Hey Vesper, do you know why all these random people are trying to upload those present-day-watermarked images? I'm bored on putting them for deletion. I hoped that Kain would remove the watermarks using his Photoshop skills... Altaïr Skywalker 47 (talk) 03:14, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

People are trying to add the modern-day screenshots because they've recently been revealed. With the watermarks though, they're going about it wrong, so we have to remove them until a non-watermarked image can be obtained.

If you want to ask Kain if he'd be able to remove the watermarks, go and ask him to do it. Don't go through me. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:11, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I saw a non-watermarked image. (here). Altaïr Skywalker 47Agency Laptop 01:32, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Black Flag requirements[edit source]

hi.....SLATER

I'm just wondering that what should be the requirements for playin AC:Black flag?

and its nice meetin u! :p

Blackburnrocks (talk) 14:47, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not a PC player, so the best answer I could give you is "a copy of the game and a console to play it on."

I know that Kain and vatsa play on PC though, so you could as either of those. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:50, August 11, 2013 (UTC)
