Boston Harbor

Boston Harbor is the harbor of the city of Boston, located in Massachusetts Bay.
History[edit | edit source]
American Revolution[edit | edit source]
On 8 July 1754, Haytham Kenway entered Boston through the harbor after a 72-day voyage on the Providence, and was greeted by Charles Lee, whereupon the two headed to the Green Dragon Tavern.[1]
On 16 December 1773, the Sons of Liberty, with the aid of the Assassins Ratonhnhaké:ton and Stephane Chapheau, organized the Boston Tea Party, dumping a shipment of East India Company tea into the harbor to protest the rule of the British Crown.[2] Years later, in 1782, Ratonhnhaké:ton returned to the harbor in pursuit of Charles Lee, chasing him through a shipyard where both men were gravely wounded after a vessel caught fire by accident. Lee ultimately managed to escape from the Assassin and took a boat to Monmouth, though Ratonhnhaké:ton followed him not too far behind.[3]
In an alternate timeline he glimpsed via an Apple of Eden, Ratonhnhaké:ton infiltrated the harbor to liberate the Aquila, which had been confiscated by King Washington's forces.[4] After fending off an assault by Israel Putnam and his men, Ratonhnhaké:ton and his allies boarded the Aquila and sailed to New York City.[5]
Modern times[edit | edit source]
In 2012, the Boston Harbor was used as a simulated location by Abstergo Industries' entertainment branch, in order to influence the general public, as part of the console stage of the Animus technology.[6]
The simulation depicted part of the actual harbor and its surrounding area, consisting of busy streets and high rooftops, interspersed with an occasional clearing. The harbor itself was filled with various goods and wares, neatly stacked on top of one another, as well as market stalls. Some stalls had also been set up farther into the residential area, near one of the town's churches.[6]
With the implementation of new technology, simulated locations in the console stage were upgraded to have multiple aesthetic variations. Because of this, the Boston Harbor could be utilized during the day, at night, or amidst a snowfall.[6]
In 2020, the Assassin Rebecca Crane told Layla Hassan that a ship would arrive at the Boston Harbor within a day. From there, it would take her to Hordaland, Norway, to slow down the Yggdrasil device that had been keeping the global aurora on ever since it prevented the Second Disaster in 2012.[7]
