Terror Gorge

The Terror Gorge was a gorge in the Mines of the Great Trench in Messenia, Greece. Within the gorge was the entrance into a cave used by the Followers of Ares.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the followers of Ares, freed their captives, and claimed their valuables. She also found an Ainigmata Ostraka.[1]
At some point in the 420s BCE, Gaspar the Gatekeeper, a member of the Order of Dominion branch of the Order of the Ancients, sought an audience with the Followers of Ares in Messenia, and was granted one with their leader in the cave of the Terror Gorge. Kassandra, seeking to demolish the Order, hunted Gaspar down and killed her at the cave.[2]
