After all transcripts are done, should we split this page into a main page and one for each season? I was thinking of something like we do for comics, so as to not make this page too heavy for editing. - Soranin (talk) 13:45, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

I guess it'd be easier to read as well. Should we split by episode instead of by season, like how comic issues have their own pages? Unless both would apply, the way collected comic volume pages are also here. And since I'm revamping this page, may I also claim dibs on this, too, since it's a natural extension off the main project? – Darman (talk) 00:05, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
Sounds good. Like how Discovery Tour got split up. one page for the concept of Discovery Tour itself (or just a disambig idk) and then one for each podcast/season. If you're gonna split each episode itself too, how should the naming format be, just "Episode 1: Episode Title"? – VilkaIsBack (talk) 04:24, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
I was thinking of setting it up like the AC Dynasty page, where it describes the central media with a Development section and has a table with links to the individual episodes that make up each collected volume/"season". I will make the appropriate season/ep infoboxes later today when I'm back. And yeah, that'd be the naming format, since it's what is used in the refs so far. – Darman (talk) 04:55, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

After struggling with the visual editor, I made infoboxes in source mode for a series, a season, and individual eps, while Soranin made a nice navbox. Since seasons get their own page, I think refs should change from "[Echoes: Season] – Episode" to follow format of "[Game] – [DLC] – [Memory]". But this is all for later. – Darman (talk) 18:25, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Season 7[edit source]

This is an ongoing discussion.

I know this was talked about on Discord and elsewhere, but just to have an on-wiki record of the discussion and conclusion. For background, Season 7 of Echoes of History is Skull & Bones-themed but still centers on real world history. Two of the episodes are focused on Olivier Levasseur and William Kidd while some others deal with other members of the Republic of Pirates. As of now, none of this is mentioned on this article. Jhonnies and Vilka was against adding, Darman was undecided, I (Lacrossedeamon) am for the inclusion, and even if we don't add transcripts, I think we should at least mention that a Skull & Bones-themed season exists. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 03:38, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

If there was a "Development" section, I wouldn't mind at least a mention of it there. VilkaIsBack (talk) 03:56, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
I have a draft of Development on my computer as well. I believe Soranin's reason to not include Kidd's and Lavasseur's eps specifically—I can't recall if we have pages on the other episode subjects—was because this is the AC Wiki, not the "AC + Skull and Bones" Wiki, even if we also catalogue the minor (non-canon) crossover with Watch_Dogs. – Darman (talk) 04:15, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
Other than the first sentence of the episode description mentioning Skull & Bones, does the game get mentioned in the transcripts? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:08, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
Those transcripts are not written, as that series does not pertain to AC, but every episode has "To celebrate the release of the new Skull & Bones video game..." as the intro phrase. – Darman (talk) 04:55, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
Yes, I mentioned that one specific mention in my previous comment, but in the actual script of the episode when people are talking, do they ever mention Skull & Bones? Because if not, history is history and this season is just pulling double duty. The description of the series in general does not mention Skull & Bones, so to me season 7 is still AC but with Skull & Bones tied in as well due to the theme. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:00, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

Skull is mentioned in text and in audio; I answered that, but here it is again. Michelle Rodriguez regularly recites "To celebrate..." as the intro phrase, which I thought indicated that it's the line that listeners hear introducing them to the series. It is not "The new season of "Echoes of History" features Ubisoft's new game: "Skull and Bones".", which is written in every description. There is a difference. – Darman (talk) 11:45, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

Even if the content from them isn't being added, it should be mentioned that the series has branched out into other Ubisoft franchises if only to explain that it's no longer a solely a dedicated AC tie-in. And it'll explain any future gaps if there's a Hexe season. Vetinari(Appointment) 15:18, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
Ah my bad Darman. I listened (but not long enough it seems) to the beginning of a few episodes and they start with a cold open rather than the "To celebrate..." statement which is after the intro (which I didn't realize until relistening for longer) so I assumed you were talking about the description. That being said, the podcast as a whole is only described as Assassin's Creed related so while season 7 was released to coincide with S&B I would still consider it under the umbrella of AC. I at least will be sandboxing the transcripts because I do believe we should have them. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:13, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
My draft of Development already accounts for the series jumping from AC-related to Skull and then back again, but thanks for the reminder, Vetinari. Just have one more source to parse about how series came about and then will try to post it tomorrow or day after. – Darman (talk) 03:00, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
User:Lacrossedeamon/Sandbox2 is where I am putting Gangster of the Seas transcripts for now. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:32, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
