Historicity

I am inclined to be believe that this is meant to be the actual historical battle given that the mission description actually capitalizes the name. I propose that we address the game's portrayal in a legacy section where we talk about the circumstances with layla's animus and kassandra's dna. We can also address the timing and the fact that neither missions' battle actually takes place in Megaris. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 17:41, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

I will leave it here that only one of the two missions capitalizes the name (Nemesis does, The Final Battle does not) and we cannot really know for a fact that this is due to the damaged dna and the animus being bad or the writers being dumb once again. - Soranin (talk) 18:08, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

I was about to say that I don't see any strong evidence for this being the actual Battle of Megaris" from history given that it falls outside of the game's date range, but then I double-checked that it preceded the Battle of Amphipolis which totally reminds me that I need to review the Peloponnesian War and Odyssey's plot. Since it falls within the timing of Odyssey, and if there were historically only one Battle of Megaris in this time range, then I would say it is safe to equate the two. The biggest evidence against would be that Kassandra should technically be in prison at this time. Other evidence would that while Demosthenes was the historical leader of Athenian forces here, Lysander (who probably should not have been in the game at all) was not the leader of the Spartan forces, that instead being Brasidas. One can also argue that even though the descriptions say Megaris neither of the mission conquest battles happen there. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 22:22, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
