Girolamo da Lucca was a member of the Italian Assassins who assisted the Spanish Brotherhood's fight against the Spanish Inquisition during the Reconquista.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Girolamo da Lucca was a Master Assassin from Florence, and an expert in melee and stealth during the Renaissance. His background remained a mystery to all, but it was believed he had strong ties to the Medici family and a personal vendetta against the Borgias of Spain.[1]

He began his career working as an assassin for hire and developed a reputation for his obfuscation and infiltration skills. He would perform mass assassinations, killing twenty men without detection or sign of entry. His deadly talents and his ability to disappear without a trace earned him the title "The Ghost of Florence".[1]

The Florentine Assassin Ezio Auditore soon became aware of his growing reputation and approached him to join the Brotherhood. Girolamo felt an affinity for the Creed and accepted.[1]

When Ezio gave notice of his departure for Spain, Girolamo insisted on traveling with him, possibly to pursue his own agenda.[1]

Personality and traits[edit | edit source]

Girolamo da Lucca was a mysterious and enigmatic individual with little known about his origins. His intense personal vendetta against the Borgia acted as a driving force for him. Fiercely loyal to the Assassins and Ezio Auditore, Girolamo felt passionately about the Creed and what it stood for.[1] Though his calm exterior, Girolamo was known to have bouts of rage in combat when attacked. Stocky and hardy, Girolamo refused to give in without a fight. He was also recognized to be a good mentor during promotion ceremonies.[2]

Skills and equipment[edit | edit source]

Deeply skilled in assassination techniques, Girolamo was a master of stealth and infiltration. In addition, he excelled at silently assassinating his targets.[1] In melee combat, Girolamo could unleash a swift and furious storm of steel on all surrounding enemies, as well as deliver targeted crippling blows to hinder their movement. An additional sweeping attack would deeply wounded enemies causing them to bleed heavily.[2]

Girolamo wore a set of the rare Helmschmied Drachen Armor, and a black and red variant of the typical Roman Assassin robes. [citation needed] Girolamo's preferred weapon of choice was a two-handed greatsword,[3] upgraded to perfection by the Spanish Brotherhood's own blacksmith, Bartolomé Ortiz.[4]

Da Lucca is a toponymic surname denoting "from Lucca", a city in Tuscany.[6]
