Church of Saint-Léger
The Church of Saint-Léger is a church dedicated to Saint Léger of Autun in Lens, France.
History[edit | edit source]
First built during the 10th centry CE,[1] the original church was destroyed by the Spanish[2] during the Thirty Years' War. Though rebuilt in 1776,[1] the relentless bombing of the city during World War I would once again reduce the church to rubble, along with over 98% of Lens. After the war, it was rebuilt with the assistance of Abstergo Industries, who used the reconstruction effort as a pretext to conduct a survey of the city center as part of their investigations of a lost Templar treasure.[2]
In the 2020s, Simon Mulio visited the church during his own search for the treasure and, after his disappearance, an Abstergo employee tracking him did the same.[2]
