Richard Thompson was the Deputy Governor of Harbour Island in the Bahamas[1] and one of the West Indies' wealthiest merchants due to his trading in all manner of goods with New England. He was also the father-in-law of the pirate John Cockram.
In March 1718, Charles Vane had gathered an army and intended to loot the island before the Royal Navy would. Vane marooned Thompson on a deserted islet, since the latter refused to tell where his gold was located.[2]
Alonzo Batilla, while searching for La Buse, came to rescue Thompson in exchange for information on the whereabouts of his friend.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Richard Thompson is a historical figure introduced in the 2013 mobile spin-off Assassin's Creed: Pirates, though it refers to him only by his surname.
