Hachiman was a town in Shiga Prefecture, Japan that was formerly part of the Ōmi Province during the Sengoku period.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and former Oda retainer Yasuke met with Kuma, Oichi's personal bodyguard, about the problems surrounding the province. There, they agreed to help the current situation of the current daikan abusing his control over the people. From his investigation, he eliminated a drunk samurai who served a corrupt daikan in Azuchi. After confronting and killing the daikan, he reported his efforts to Kuma, who thanked him for his work[1] while giving a list of more corrupt daikans to eliminate.[2] At some point, he and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe also established a kakurega in the town.[3]
