Cassius Albus

Cassius Albus (died 47 BCE) was a Roman centurion who operated in the Roman city of Cyrene in Cyrenaica during the 1st century BCE.

Biography

In the mid 1st century BCE, Cassius had his men ransacked the Tomb of Battos situated in front of the Roman Akropolis, descerating inner tomb of Battos I, a Greek who founded the colony and the city. To that end, they stole a medallion from his crypt and a bow hidden in one of the chests. To cover up their acts of crime, Cassius had the tomb locked, preventing the Cyreneans from accessing the tomb for prayers, leading them to protest outside the tomb.

The priest Iakchos enlisted the aid of the Medjay, Bayek, to investigate the closure, which he does so and discover Cassius' act of desecration. The Medjay would later infiltrate the Akropolis and assassinate Cassius, retrieving the medallion from the centurion and the bow from one of the storehouses.
