The servant was a worker employed by Hind and her husband in al-Ula.

Biography[edit | edit source]

After Hind's husband died from a heart attack, a group of robbers began terrorizing al-Ula Valley, targeting the family's warehouse for its stored wealth and taking the servant hostage. The visiting Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq saved her and, after thanking him profusely, she left the location in search of a safer job.[1] However, she had little luck and eventually accepted a position in the prison Musa ibn Nusayr Fort working as its cook, reasoning that even prisoners must eat, though she questioned whether what she made constituted food or the warden 'Abis' new form of poisonous torture. Among her other duties, she was also responsible for delivering the inmates' food while accompanied by an armed escort.[2]

On one of her rounds, she noticed that her rescuer had been placed in a cell, though did not address him and kept on working. Some time later, she returned alone to his cell alone to talk with him. Basim brought up her vow to not forget the service he did her and asked her to get his cell's key. She refused the idea, as it would be far too dangerous, but instead suggested that she could use the kitchen's mandrake supply in a sedative to lull the guards to sleep.[2]
