Abstergo Entertainment is a division of Abstergo Industries that produces multimedia products. Its primary product is a gaming console version of the Animus, which is sold on a worldwide scale. Through its initial basis, it enabled the company to influence the general public through pre-packaged genetic memories and wide, social gaming constructs.[1] The company's main mediums included video games, movies and other media sourced from genetic memories. Their games were released in partnership with Ubisoft.[2]There first major release was Liberation (made from the genetic line of Sample 1) , but are now working on a full, interactive movie based on the genetic line of the "generous donor" Desmond Miles. This movie titled "Pirates of Nightmares" focuses on Desmond's ancestor Edward Kenway.[3]
However, despite these aims, the scheme faced some opposition from a group of hackers known only as the Erudito Collective, who intended to dispel the false beliefs that Abstergo had planted within their products.[1][4]
By 2013, the company had at least one facility in Montreal, Canada.
Trivia
The Abstergo Entertainment building as it appears in Assassin's Creed IV is in reality the Olympic stadium of Montréal.
In an email found after hacking your bosses computer it reveals a number of other ancestors Desmond had. These hint at what the future games might take place. This evidence is further supported by the completed map featured in Assassin's Creed II. Throughout the game, in passing conversation, it is also hinted that the next game will take place in Japan or Eygpt, further supporting the claims made in this email.
