Heralds

Italy

This killer stains the very stone of our city with his presence! Surely, God will be displeased with us, should we fail to strike him down!

Constantinople

It is the duty of all loyal citizens to collaborate with the stewards of Byzantium, to bring them to a swift end!

There is a vile, infernal Assassin plague walking among us! Terror spreas throughout the city! The terror of madness and death!

Do not be deceived by these voices seeking to justify their acts! They are nothing but cold killers, reveling only in death!

Leonardo conversations

  • Leonardo: Back for more designs, again?
  • Leonardo: Bene. I will return shortly.
Wait here. I will be back soon.

Leonardo produced a second Hidden Blade for Ezio.

  • Ezio: I can kill double the guards.

Leonardo produced a climb leap glove for Ezio.

  • Ezio: Now nothing will be out of my reach.

Leonardo produced a poison dart launcher for Ezio.

  • Ezio: Just a small sting, and my enemies will fall.
  • Leonardo: If you decide to buy something, look for the chalk outline on benches.

The Banker

  • Leonardo: Ezio! I just hear the most wonderful news. Cesare's banker has been killed. It seems Cesare's battle funds are in shambles.
  • Ezio: What a surprise.
  • Leonardo: You did not have anything to do with this, did you?
  • Ezio: Do you really want to know?
  • Leonardo: On second thought, let's stick with the inventions.

Baron de Valois

  • Leonardo: Ezio. The French are pulling out of Roma! The Baron Valois was found murdered within his own camp.
  • Ezio: Could it have been an Assassin?
  • Leonardo: There are rumors which favor such a theory.
  • Ezio: Never listen to gossip, Leonardo. It could get you into trouble.
  • Leonardo: Good advice.

Pietro

  • Leonardo: Strange news, Ezio. Did you hear Pietro, Lucrezia's lover, fled the city after being poisoned by Micheletto at the Colosseum passion play?
  • Ezio: No. But... was he saved by a hooded man?
  • Leonardo: You daring figlio d'un cane (son of a bitch).
  • Ezio: Shhh. I heard nothing, remember?

Papal turmoil

  • Leonardo: Ezio. The papal apartments are in turmoil. Cesare is ill and the Pope, dead. It was your doing, was it not?
  • Ezio: Leonardo, I swear to you, he did not die by my hand.
  • Leonardo: This world gets stranger every day. I shall have to focus on my painting. I work on the small portrait of a woman. I am growing rather fond of it.
  • Ezio: Do not let a beautiful girl distract you from constructing my designs.
  • Leonardo: Have no worries. Women provide little distraction.

Leonardo put his hand on Ezio's back.

  • Ezio: Wait, I don't get it.

Embarassed, Leonardo took his hand away.

Aya was a virtual representation of one of Bayek's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.

Description

Bayek travelled to Alexandria to find his wife, Aya and the Snake.

Dialogue

Bayek rode in the Yamu surroundings near Alexandria, and was followed by his eagle, Senu.

  • Bayek: I must protect this great land. Alexandria is where the Snake thrives and Aya lives. I must find them both.

Bayek arrived in Alexandria and made his way to the Great Library. Inside, he looked at a statue of Serapis.

  • Bayek: Alright, Serapis. Now what? Where is Aya?

Bayek was met by a playwright.

  • Phanos: Ah, Serapis. I wrote a tragi-comic-pastoral-epic centered on him.
  • Bayek: Ah.
  • Phanos: You're Bayek, yes? Aya is eager to see you.
  • Bayek: Is she safe?

A woman passed by, unnerving Phanos.

  • Phanos: Quickly, follow me. I am sorry, my good fellow, you appear to be drunk. This library is for serious scholars only.

The man lowered his way.

  • Phanos: She is in hiding.
  • Bayek: Who are you?
  • Phanos: Ah! Interested in Homeric verse, eh? This way, please.

He lowered his voice again.

  • Phanos: I am Aya's cousin, Phanos.
  • Bayek: Ah, yes, Phanos, nice to meet you in person. Tell me what is happening with Aya, why are you being so discreet?
  • Phanos: Gennadios sent his men on a house-to-house search. Often, they drag people into the street and torture them for information. Typical of the system we live under.
  • Bayek: Gennadios?
  • Phanos: A monster. The phylakitai of Alexandria. He is ravaging the city to find her.
  • Bayek: And where is she now?
  • Phanos: I have a very powerful friend, Apollodorus. No doubt you have heard of him.
  • Bayek: I have not.
  • Phanos: You will. In any case, he made a hiding place available to Aya after she ran into trouble.
  • Bayek: But what happened? You do not answer me.
  • Phanos: It is a mess of political intrigue. She will explain all, fear not.
  • Man 1: Look! There's Phanos! He thinks he's a poet!
  • Man 2: The modern Sophocles!
  • Phanos: This is as far as I go. The way to Aya is found in the monument ahead.
  • Bayek:
  • Phanos:
  • Bayek:
  • Phanos:

Outcome

Bayek was tasked with ending the Snake and a Phylakitai by the name of Gennadios.
