The Heron Assassination
The Heron Assassination was a virtual representation of one of Bayek's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2017 through the Portable Animus HR-8.
Description[edit | edit source]
Bayek confronted his first target Rudjek, also known as "The Heron", at the Bent Pyramid and started his quest for vengeance.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
In 49 BCE, Bayek and his wife Aya were among the residents of Siwa busy arranging for the festivities in preparation for Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII's arrival. Bayek observed two masked members of the Order of the Ancients accompanying Ptolemy. A year later, at the Bent Pyramid, Bayek confronted a man named Rudjek.
- Rudjek: You are the Medjay from Siwa? I thought Medjays were supposed to protect the pharaoh?
Bayek took out an arrow lodged in his side.
- Bayek: I am Medjay to no pharaoh. You see this?
Bayek showed a tattoo with the names of his targets, and crossed out Rudjek's name with the arrow.
- Rudjek: I can read my own name, nek! (Shit!) We will find you. We will find you, in your sleep!
Rudjek threw a knife at Bayek, who blocked it with Rudjek's mask.
- Bayek: Sleep? I never sleep. I just wait. In the shadows. And I will kill you all. Everyone who sniffed the air that day in Siwa.
Bayek thrust the mask with the knife into Rudjek's face, killing him.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Bayek assassinated his first target, Rudjek.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The memory's name is given in the Assassin's Creed Origins: Official Game Guide.
