An uncharted island located in Southeast Asia was used as a hideout by members of the Zhawang Corporation in the early 21st century. The island's remoteness, along with the fact that it did not appear on any known map, made it an ideal hiding spot for individuals wishing to lay low for short periods of time.[1]
History
Circa 2023, after escaping from Yangon, Myanmar, with a Piece of Eden recovered from the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Assassin Nathan Zhang and Noa Kim sought refuge on the island while hiding from Abstergo Industries. Although Nathan intended to lay low to avoid detection by Abstergo so they would not lose the artifact in their possession, Noa believed that they needed to acquire another Piece of Eden located in Angkor, so they could use it to save Shimazu Sei and stop Abstergo's plans.[1]
Despite already knowing the artifact's location, Noa considered that they would be better prepared to retrieve it if they knew what challenges Edward Kenway had faced during his own quest for the Piece of Eden. As such, he used the Animus HR-8 to relive Edward's genetic memories while Nathan watched over him in the event Abstergo managed to track them down.[1]
