Aretas

Aretas (died c. 38 BCE) was the an Egyptian slave, who was sold by the merchant Harwa to the Romans to work in the Klysma Quarry.

Unwilling to work in a new section of the quarry, Aretas was believed by the other children to have killed himself.^[1]

Trivia

The name Aretas is the Greek form of the name shared by numerous kings of the Nabataean Kingdom.
