Aretas

Aretas (died c. 38 BCE) was an Egyptian slave under the merchant Harwa, who was sold to the Romans to work in the Klysma Quarry.

Unwilling to work in a new section of the quarry, Aretas was described by the fellow children to have killed himself.^[1]

Trivia

The name Aretas is the Greek form of the name shared by numerous kings of the Nabataean Kingdom.
