Saigo Kayano

Saigo Kayano was a samurai lord that fought for the Tokugawa shogunate during the Boshin War. He was also the owner of the Musashi Masamune, the sword of legendary ronin Miyamoto Musashi.

Despite being trained in the art of bushido, Saigo was an incompetent samurai that couldn't fight back against his opponents. As such, he had to protected by Nakano Takeko, an onna-musha from the Aizu domain. Unfortunately, he was eventually killed and the Musashi Masamune later fell into the possession of Matsudaira Katamori, William Lloyd and eventually Shiba Atsuko throughout the Boshin War.
