Father Raymond

Father Raymond is an American priest serving as prison chaplain for Huntsville penitentiary, Texas. Before finding his true calling, Father Raymond was an English professor at a west coast university.

In October 2016, Father Raymond came to Callum Lynch, a murderer soon to be executed, to hear his last words. The priest tried to give comfort to Lynch, but was unsettled by the man's calmness. After reading the Bible and understanding that he was not interested in religion, Raymond asked Lynch what he would like to hear at the hour of his death.

Lynch then told priest about a poem that his mother used to read him, "After Apple-Picking" by Robert Frost, which Raymond recalled from his time as a professor and recited to Lynch until the guards came to take him to the execution chamber.
