Nakano Takeko was a member of the Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins. She was a Japanese noblewoman from a pro-Shogunate samurai family in the province of Aizu.

She took part in the Boshin War in 1868 as the commander of a battalion of female samurai known as the Joshitai.^[1]
