Munemi was a Japanese woman who lived in Aizu during the Edo period. In the spring of 1868, she attended a national festival that celebrated spring and talked with other single ladies. While there, Munemi saw Shiba Tanomo's daughter Shiba Atsuko and led her away from the jokes and cruel laughter of the other girls.
