Madam Lee was a powerful merchant based in Macau in the 1720s.

Biography

Unlike other merchants at the time who preferred to deal with luxuries, Madam Lee monopolized Macau's salt and sugar trading to become someone who had the city under her feet, as navigator John Young put it. In February 1725, she purchased the logbook of the late Dutch East India Company navigator Hendrik, attracting the attention of both the Assassin Edward Kenway[1] and of a member of the Templar Order[2] who had his ninjas burn down her main warehouse.[3]

Later, she moved into the Mandarin's House along with a number of guards. Kenway infiltrated this residence looking for the logbook, though Madam Lee had been expecting him and invited him to sit down for tea at gunpoint, having learned of both his identity and his affiliation to the Assassins. The group's attention, however, was drawn back into the mansion's courtyard, where a group of ninjas had arrived and attacked some of the guards.[2]
