Kasim[1] (died 860s), known as the King of Thieves, was the leader of the Forty Thieves who operated with his group from a hideout southwest of Baghdad.

Behind the scenes

Kasim is a character introduced in Assassin's Creed: Mirage as part of The Forty Thieves DLC. While he was only referred to and named as King of Thieves, his name was revealed on ArtStation by Anthony Perales, a Junior Character Artist who designed Kasim's character model in the game.

In the folktale Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Kasim (or Cassim) is the name of Ali Baba's brother who is killed by the thieves. However in some adaptation it is the name given to the leader of the thieves, such as in Disney's Aladdin and the Forty Thieves.
