Kasim[1] (died 860s), known as the King of Thieves, was the leader of the Forty Thieves who operated with his group from a hideout southwest of Baghdad.

Behind the scenes
In the original tale, Kasim (or Cassim) is the name of Ali Baba's brother who is killed by the thieves. However in some adaptation it is the name given to the leader of the thieves, such as in Disney's Aladdin and the Forty Thieves.
