Eliza was an Afro-American maid working with her father, Abraham, for William M. Tweed during the American Civil War. Having inherited Eagle Vision from her murdered mother and wanting to avenge her father killed during the New York City draft riots organized by the Templars, she later joined the Assassin Brotherhood.
Biography
In 1863, while looking for her father after discovering a letter unveiling the Templars plans for the riots, she witnessed the fight between the Assassin Varius and Templar Cudgel Cormac for a Piece of Eden. She helped the poisonned Assassin after Cudgel left with the artifact and revealed what she learned to Varius after he promised to help her find her father. The two left for Tweed house, with the Assassin teaching her the basics of free-running after discovering that she was gifted and also offered Eliza to join the Brotherhood.
Back at Tweed's house, a distraught Eliza witnessed Abraham's death after he was beaten to death while looking for his missing daughter during the riots until Cudgel arrived to give his prize to the Grand Master. Varius and Cudgel resumed their fight until the Templar used the artifact powers to take the advantage on his foe before stabbing him in the stomach. However as he was about to finish him, Eliza stepped in and shoot him with one of Varius' paralyzing dart. She then took the Dagger and vowed to join the Assassins to stop the Templars who caused her beloved father's death. Sparing Cormac, she then brought Vaius to an hospital with the help of Tommy Greyling and Adelina Patti.
Eliza later fought during the Civil War, gave the artifact to Grant, and was the one who brought the evidences of corruption leading to the arrest of Grand Master Tweed in 1871.
