The Black Room is a safe mode inside the Animus, accessed through a back door in the machine's programming. When Desmond was put back inside the Animus, he used this room to access his own personal lost memories. By accessing these memories, Desmond hoped to reintegrate the splintered layers of his subconscious. This new Area was introduced to add a puzzle-orienting gameplay for players and to challenge them in a way they havent done before through the Animus. This mode is used as a stepping stone to your paveing of Desomd's path through the Animus Hardware.
