The Okteres Blockade was set up near the lighthouse of Euhemeria, Faiyum, around 48 BCE. The blockade consisted of two Greek triremes, and one Greek octareme.

In 48 BCE, while visiting Euhemeria, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa witnessed an elder priest of Sobek abusing a novice. The priest claimed the novice had stolen golden statues of Sobek which he'd been tasked to take to Krokodilopolis, and the novice swore that his ship had sunk. The Medjay decided to investigate, and came upon a recently sunk trireme, finding one of the statues in it; another had been taken by soldiers aboard one of the blockade's octaremes.[1]
