Biography
Curse of the Pharaohs
Around 34 BCE, Sutekh's parents were killed by Irsu, who sought to prevent them from reporting his theft of one of Nefertiti's sacred objects to the local authorities.[1]
As the Curse of the Pharaohs descended upon Thebes, Sutekh sought to lift the curse by himself and became embroiled in the travels of the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa.[1] After asking him to end the calamity that was plaguing Thebes, Sutekh tried to distance himself from trouble but was soon captured by Isidora, who needed him for a ceremony to restore Ma'at. Upon killing Isidora and lifting the curse in the tomb of Tutankhamun, Bayek entrusted Sutekh with the relic that had been the curse's source, instructing him to hide it where no man would ever find it.[2]
Death
- "No, is this... Sutekh? He deserved more than this fate. And the relic is... gone. I pray to Amun he hid it well."
- ―Bayek upon finding Sutekh's body, 34 BCE.[src]
Some time later, Bayek came across Sutekh's body at the Cobra Oasis deep within the Waset Desert, southwest of Thebes, having seemingly fallen prey to the local cobras. Bayek lamented the young man's death, but noted that the relic was missing and expressed hope that Sutekh had hidden it well before his demise.[3]
