Viridovix was a Gallic gladiator who fought in the Krokodilopolis Arena in Egypt along with his brother, Diovicos, during the mid-1st century BCE.
Biography
Viridovix fought with a large scythe in combat, and he and his brother were undefeated in the Krokodilopolis Arena in Faiyum, Egypt, as well as fierce rivals of the gladiator Kensa.[1] When not in the arena, the brothers served as mercenaries to the Nomarch of Faiyum and member of the Order of the Ancients, Berenike, also known as the Crocodile.[2]
In 48 BCE, they were present when Berenike drowned the girl Shadya for stealing a ledger naming members of the Order.[2] The Medjay Bayek was hunting for the Crocodile at the time, and confronted the brothers in the arena with the help of Kensa.
