Theon was a Greek tanner who lived in Alexandria, Egypt, during the 1st century BCE.

In 48 BCE, one of Theon's works, a lion skin dyed blue, was stolen, and he blamed one of his workers, an Egyptian man who also worked in the Serapeum of Alexandria as a drummer, for the theft, and had him arrested. The priest of Serapis whose drummer the man was asked the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to look into the matter.[1]
