The Silphium depot was a heavily guarded Roman camp in the Green Mountains, north of Balagrae, where they processed silphium.

In 47 BCE, the healer Theramenes of the Balagrae clinic requested the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to retrieve some Silphium extract from the depot, to help ease the pain of his patient, Galenos. The Medjay agreed, and infiltrated the place, finding the concoction.[1]
