Sierra de Cazorla fortress in 1492

Sierra de Cazorla, or Cazorla mountains, is a mountain range in the Province of Jaén in southern Spain.

History

During the Granada War, the region lay within the territory of the Emirate of Granada and was the location of an abandoned fortress which the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins claimed and turned into their primary base-of-operations in 1492.[1]

The fortress had three wings and held many rooms among them were; training rooms, a blacksmith, intel room, treasury, and a ceremony room. The fortress also had living quarters, an apothecary, library, and a supply room that backed onto the docks.[2]
