Bayek and Pelias with Ruia's body

Ruia (died 48 BCE) was a young Egyptian woman employed in Apollodorus estate.

Biography

In around 48 BCE, the steward Pelias sent her to retrieve a letter from the pigeon tower. There, she was confronted by Dymnos, the Master of Arms who demanded her to read a letter for him. When she refused, Dymnos, disdainful towards the lives of Egyptians, threw her off the pigeon coop to her death and later hid her body in a haystack nearby. Unbeknownst to Dymnos, Ruia was able to grab his badge and hid it in her clothes when she fell.[1]

Legacy

When she failed to return, Pelias sent the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to investigate and retrieve his letter. Bayek eventually discovered Ruia's fate and brought her body back to Pelias. Uncovering Dymno's badge, Bayek confronted him in the farm's armory and killed him in self defense, ultimately avenging Ruia.[1]
