Rudjek (82 or 81 BCE – 48 BCE), also known as The Heron, was the Nomarch of the Saqqara Nome. He was also a member of the Order of the Ancients during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.

In 48 BCE, Rudjek was confronted by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa in the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu, who killed him due to his involvement in the death of his son Khemu in 49 BCE.

The rebels of the Saqqara Nome were pleased by his death, as they also tried to kill the nomarch but failed.

Legacy

After his death, Rudjek's body was found by his mistress Suphia, who laid him to rest and buried him in a sarcophagus in the pyramid.

His death has caused his personal bodyguard Hypatos to seek vengeance against Bayek. Tracking him for several months, Hypatos eventually found the Medjay in the outskirts of Siwa though he fell to his blades as well.

Later, Bayek once again visited Nitria, where he was healed by Nefertari after the assassination of Rudjek, but was assaulted by the distraught widow of the Ancient who kicked him in the crotch.

Later, after Nefertari asked Bayek to escort her assistant, Suphia, to a nearby fort of rebels where she was to mend their injuries. However, once there, Suphia lit the alarm fire to alert Ptolemy's soldiers. After he killed the patrol, Bayek confronted the healer who revealed that she was Rudjek's mistress. As she was ranting about how she would avenge her murdered lover, the leader of the rebels, Namrut, executed her.
