Poseidon is a Greek god of the sea, horses and earthquake, whose Roman counterpart is Neptune. He is regarded as one of the Twelve Olympians, the major deities of the Greek pantheon. He is also the brother of Zeus and Hades. In Greek mythology, he was also said to be the father of of Byzas, the founder of Byzantium, which later came to be known as Constantinople.[1]

In 48 BCE, Poseidon was mentioned by Phoxidas during his time defending the Egyptian seas with Aya.[2]
