The Phylakes were an elite Greco-Roman paramilitary force who served as bounty hunters for Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII during the final years of the Ptolemaic Kingdom.[1]

In 48 BCE, they were given orders to hunt the Medjay Bayek of Siwa after he assassinated the Phylakitai of Alexandria, Gennadios.[2] Each member, with the exception of Abar, patrolled separate regions of Egypt throughout the Alexandrine Civil War, but all were ultimately slain by Bayek who turned the hunt against them.[3]
