Philoteris was a small village situated south east of Dionysias in Faiyum, Egypt. A statue of Ptolemy XIII was located in the village.

In 48 BCE, the farmer Zahra took shelter in the village after the defeat of the Son of Ra by the medjay Bayek of Siwa.[1] Later on, Bayek himself passed by the village, destroying the statue of Ptolemy XIII in the process.[2]
