Pelias was the steward of Apollodorus' Estate in the Kanopos Nome.

Biography

Around 48 BCE, Pelias sent Ruia, one of his young servants, to retrieve a letter from the pigeon post. When she failed to return, he became worried and asked that the Medjay Bayek of Siwa investigate her absence and retrieve the letter. Bayek discovered Ruia's body in a nearby haystack, bringing her back to Pelias. On her body, the Medjay discovered the letter and a badge which Pelias identified as belonging to Dymnos, the estate's Master of Arms. While Bayek dealt with Dymnos, Pelias laid Ruia to rest. The Medjay later returned to him, reporting the Master of Arms' death and reason for his actions.[1]

Trivia

  • The name Pelias might be derived from the Greek word πέλεια (peleia), meaning 'rock pigeon'.
  • In Greek mythology, Pelias was the name of the king of Iolcus, the son of Tyro and Poseidon. He was the one who sent Jason to fetch the Golden Fleece.
