The Necropolis Hideout was a necropolis situated in the mountains next to the Aquaeductus Kyrenaike in the Green Mountains of Cyrenaica. During the 1st century BCE, it was desecrated by a group of bandits who made it their hideout.
In 47 BCE, the bandits stole a dioptra belonging to the Roman engineer Vitruvius, thus preventing him from continuing his construction of the aqueduct. He later sent the Medjay Bayek of Siwa to recover the tool, and eliminate the bandits.[1] In addition, Bayek also came across the body of a messenger, carrying a letter for a worker named Hapti meant for his wife, Merope.[2]
