Ktesos (died 48 BCE), also known as The Ram, was a member of the Order of the Ancients active in Alexandria during the reign of Ptolemy XIII as an officer of the Pharaoh's royal guard.
In 48 BCE, his friend Actaeon, also a member of the Order, was assassinated by Aya in revenge for her son's death. In retaliation, Ktesos tracked her down to her home. There, he met a brutal end at the hands of his quarry, who was forced into hiding to avoid reprisals from the Phylakes.[1] When Aya's husband, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa, visited her abandoned home a short while later, he found giant splatters of blood leading from one of the courtyard doorways to Ktesos' corpse inside. Eventually, though, all marks of the violence were removed.[2]
